Mobile network antennas Siemens

Область применения

Remote antennas optimize the transmit and receive conditions and support the use of remote network products in a large number of industrial applications.
In addition to antennas with directional radiation characteristics, omnidirectional antennas concentrate the radio field around the antenna in the shape of a disc. Both designs therefore result in improved radio communication quality.

Application examples:

  • Telecontrol applications, e.g. in the water and wastewater plant environment as well as oil and gas applications, and applications in the railway or public transport environments
  • Teleservice applications, e.g. in machine and manufacturing
  • Other applications, for example, automation of power distribution networks (Smart Grid), video surveillance

Обзор

Remote antennas increase the reliability of wireless links by optimizing signal reception and emission.

  • Used for routers, modems and communication processors for the mobile network standards GSM/GPRS (2G), UMTS (3G), LTE (4G)
  • Coordinated range of antennas for the most diverse applications both indoors and outdoors

Overview of mobile network antennas

Функции

Remote antennas are used to optimize the radio field for the application. In industrial applications, this permits a reliable radio link.

Omnidirectional antennas

Omnidirectional antenna

With omnidirectional antennas, the radio field is emitted evenly in every direction surrounding the antenna (horizontal opening angle: 360°), but it weakens as the distance increases. There is a concentration in the vertical direction which creates passive amplification of the radio field. Many omnidirectional antennas have extremely weak radiation directly below the antenna due to the construction type. This property can be seen in the associated antenna diagram.

ANT896-4MA, ANT896-4ME, ANT896-6MH and ANT896-6MM

With these antennas, the radio field is concentrated in the vertical plane of the antenna for frequencies of the mobile network standards GSM(2G), UMTS(3G) and LTE(4G).

The ANT896-4MA antenna has an antenna gain of 2 dBi, features an additional joint, an SMA connector, and IP54 degree of protection. This means it is perfectly suited for direct installation on SCALANCE M routers, the CP1242-7 communication processor and the MD720 MODEM.

The ANT896-4ME antenna has an antenna gain of 3 dBi, an N-Connect socket, and IP66 degree of protection. This antenna can be connected to the mobile network devices with an antenna connection cable from the SIMATIC NET range. This means the antenna can be positioned at the location that is best for radio transmission.

The ANT896-6MH antenna features an antenna gain of 5-6 dBi (depending on the frequency band used), an N-Connect socket, and IP69K degree of protection. It is especially designed for use in railway applications and complies with the standards required for such applications (including EN50155, EN45545-2). This antenna can be connected to mobile network devices with an antenna connection cable suitable for railway applications from the SIMATIC NET range. This means the antenna can be positioned at the location that is best for radio transmission.

The ANT896-6MM antenna features an antenna gain of 4-7 dBi, (depending on the frequency band used), three cable connections with QMA sockets and IP69K/IP68 degree of protection. Due to its design and certification, this antenna is especially suitable for use in heavy-duty traffic and buses. Parallel to wireless network applications, his antenna can also be for WLAN radio communication. This antenna can be connected to mobile network devices with an antenna connection cable from the SIMATIC NET range. This means the antenna can be positioned at the location that is best for radio transmission.

ANT794-4MR

The tried-and-tested omnidirectional antenna ANT794-4MR supports the frequencies of the mobile network standards GSM (2G), UMTS (3G) and LTE (4G)1) and can be directly connected to all SIMATIC NET mobile network devices with the permanently installed 5 meter connection cable and the attached SMA connector. The cable is fastened with the installation materials supplied.

1) Please note LTE frequency bands.

ANT794-3M

The ANT794-3M flat panel antenna for the GSM (2G) mobile network has a directional radiation characteristics by design; it can be mounted on metallic and non-metallic surfaces to which it is either fastened with screws or attached with the supplied adhesive pad. The permanently installed 1.2 meter connection cable can be connected directly to all SIMATIC NET mobile network devices using the attached SMA connector.
