The front connector facilitates user-friendly connection of sensors and actuators to the signal modules.
All that is necessary when replacing modules is to remove the front connector. The days when you had to change all the individual wires are over.
In order to avoid mistakes when replacing a module, the front connector is coded when plugged in for the first time. From then on it will only fit on modules of the same type.
The front connector is available with your choice of:
- Screw-type contacts,
- Crimp contacts or
- Spring terminals.

When the front connector is plugged into the module for the first time, one part of the coding key latches into the front connector. The other part element remains on the module. The front connector can then only be plugged into signal modules with the corresponding part of the coding element.
